- Date: April 20, 2026 at 14:00 - 3:30pm
On Monday 20th April, SME4Labour and Family Business UK will host a parliamentary event for MPs from 2:00pm–3:30pm in Committee Room 18.
With five million family businesses across the UK employing 15.8 million people and contributing billions in tax revenue each year, this event offers a valuable opportunity for MPs to recognise the central role these firms play in powering economic growth in every region and constituency. It will also provide a platform for parliamentarians to demonstrate their support for the family businesses that underpin their local economies.
The event follows the recent launch of Family Business UK’s policy agenda, Building Britain for Generations, which sets out a clear call for a FAMILY-first approach to policymaking. The agenda highlights the need for a stable, supportive environment that reflects the long-term outlook and responsible ownership model of family firms -ensuring they can continue to invest, create jobs and drive prosperity across the UK for generations to come.
