Our Event Partners and Supporters

SME4Labour is grateful to the organisations, networks and individuals that support our events and help us bring together Britain’s small and medium-sized businesses, the Labour movement, trade unions and others interested in building a strong, fair and inclusive economy.

The organisations featured on this page are event partners and supporters. Their involvement relates to a particular event, programme or activity. It does not constitute a wider organisational partnership, lobbying arrangement or endorsement by SME4Labour.

Their support helps us organise roundtables, conferences, receptions, briefings, awards, lunches and dinners where people can exchange ideas, share experiences and develop a better understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing small and medium-sized businesses.

How Our Event Partnerships Work

Event support may take different forms, including:

• Sponsoring a particular event or programme
• Purchasing tickets or booking tables
• Supporting event production and delivery
• Participating in discussions or contributing relevant expertise
• Helping promote an event to an appropriate audience
• Collaborating on an event concerning a particular sector or subject

Any benefits associated with event support are agreed in advance and may include appropriate branding, event tickets, acknowledgement in event materials or participation in a discussion.

Financial or practical support does not allow an organisation to control SME4Labour’s positions or determine the outcome of a discussion.

Event support does not provide or guarantee:

• A particular policy outcome
• Preferential access to ministers or other public representatives
• Representations made on behalf of the supporter
• Endorsement of an organisation, product or commercial position
• Control over SME4Labour’s programme or priorities

The appearance of an organisation’s name or logo on this page or in event materials acknowledges its support for a particular event. It should not be interpreted as an endorsement by SME4Labour.

Participation in an event does not mean that SME4Labour endorses every view expressed by a partner, sponsor, speaker or attendee. It also does not mean that an event partner or supporter endorses every position or activity undertaken by SME4Labour.

Our Event Supporters Include

Our events are supported by a wide range of organisations and individuals, including:

• Business organisations and trade associations that contribute knowledge and experience from different sectors of the economy.
• Community and sector networks that participate in discussions, awards, roundtables and other activities.
• Event sponsors and supporters whose financial or practical assistance helps us deliver accessible and professionally organised events.
• Individual members and attendees who support our work through membership, donations, ticket purchases and table bookings.

Together, we have delivered a wide range of events, including SME4Labour Gala Dinners, Excellence Awards, roundtables, receptions, discussion events and Labour Party Conference activities.

These events provide an open and constructive environment in which owners of small and medium-sized businesses, entrepreneurs, trade unions, Labour representatives and others can share experiences, hear different perspectives and build relationships.

Independence and Transparency

SME4Labour’s purpose is not to provide commercial public-affairs or lobbying services. We organise events, encourage discussion, support Labour campaigns and create opportunities for small and medium-sized businesses to participate in public life.

Following engagement with the Office of the Registrar of Consultant Lobbyists, SME4Labour joined the statutory Register of Consultant Lobbyists in the interests of transparency and compliance.

The term “client” is used by ORCL for the purposes of the statutory register. In SME4Labour’s case, organisations appearing on the register may include event sponsors, event partners or organisations that have purchased tickets or tables.

This terminology does not necessarily describe a conventional client–consultant relationship. An organisation’s appearance on the register should not be interpreted as meaning that SME4Labour has been retained to lobby for it or promote its commercial interests.

We make the declarations required of us and remain committed to openness about who supports our events and how that support is provided.

Partner With SME4Labour

We welcome conversations with organisations that share our interest in supporting Britain’s small and medium-sized businesses and encouraging constructive engagement with the Labour movement.

As an SME4Labour event partner or supporter, your organisation may be able to:

• Demonstrate its support for small and medium-sized businesses
• Contribute relevant knowledge and experience to an event
• Connect with business owners, entrepreneurs and other attendees
• Receive appropriate recognition in event materials
• Support constructive discussion about the opportunities and challenges facing small and medium-sized businesses
• Help us deliver inclusive and professionally organised events

All arrangements relate to a specific event or programme and are subject to SME4Labour’s commitment to independence, openness and transparency.
