I am a small business owner. The last few years have been tough. I’ve felt it, and I know many of my peers have too. Owning and running a small business is challenging. We have the same expectations upon us as any other large organisation has in terms of looking after our employees well, complying with regulations, accounting correctly and so on. All massively important matters but as we all know, with a limited internal structure these matters always fall upon our heads as the business owners to deliver.
The contribution which SME’s make to our communities and our economy is significant. In my own constituency of Southend West and Leigh, we have a wonderful plethora of SME’s, all incredibly valued by our community and all offering the variety that we so often miss today.
I am pleased we now have a government who are on the side of SME’s. Keep up the good work, keep resilient and thank you for all you do.
