SME4Labour are one of the most active forces for good in our movement - supporting candidates, bringing like-minded people together, and sharing their insights and impact from the work lifting up and shining a light on SMEs across our country.
SMEs are vital to the people and communities of Filton and Bradley Stoke. Around 20% of people here work in defence, not only for MOD Abbey Wood or large employers in our aerospace sector, but for enterprises of a range of sizes. With a significant number of SMEs working in the defence supply chain locally and nationally - around 7,500 - the ecosystem in which they operate matters greatly to people here, supporting innovation and creating skilled jobs.
As a result, there is a real opportunity and need for local SMEs to play a key role in delivering both Labour’s New Deal for Working People and Green Prosperity Plan here - shaping the nature of work and our proud local-to-national economy.
If elected, I will be an active and supportive Labour MP, working closely with SME4Labour, SMEs and unions directly, to together help create the conditions for SMEs to thrive both locally and nationally. Thank you for all your hard work.
