Clive Lewis became a member of parliament in 2015.
He won the seat from the sitting Liberal Democrat Simon Wright. He attended the University of Bradford and worked as a TV Reporter for BBC News before joining the Labour Party. He describes himself as a ‘proud socialist’ and has been outspoken about issues including nuclear weapons, tuition fees and immigration. He was appointed as the Shadow Secretary of State of Defence in June 2016 by Mr Corbyn.
